Scoring system

The attention index

One 0-100 number per creator, built from views, watch time, ad revenue, early-exit rate, subscriber growth, the month-by-month change in viewers versus their previous video, and comment frequency. Raw inputs stay on screen so every signing recommendation has a paper trail.

How the index is built

Every input is normalized against a scouting benchmark — hitting the benchmark scores 75, so a 100 means the creator is meaningfully ahead of the band, not merely competent. Weights favor direction and attention over raw audience size.

Viewer momentum
22%
Percent change in viewers vs the previous video, month by month over the year

Direction beats size. A creator adding viewers every release is the signing window; a flat account is a promotion, not a deal.

Average per-video delta of +10% or better, with 9 of 12 months positive
Attention captured
15%
Average watch-through % × watch minutes per view

Total minutes of human attention is the only currency every platform pays for.

55%+ watch-through, or 4+ minutes of watch time per view
Hook strength
10%
Bounce rate in the first three seconds (inverted)

A high bounce rate caps distribution no matter how good the back half is.

Under 22% early exit
Reach & audience
12%
Median views per posting (30d), subscriber count, views per subscriber

Scale matters, but views per subscriber shows whether the algorithm is still expanding the audience.

Median views above 250k, or above 1.2 views per subscriber
Interaction rate
12%
Comments per 1,000 views, save + share rate

Comment frequency and saves are the intent signals that survive algorithm changes.

5+ comments per 1,000 views and 5%+ save + share
Audience sentiment
6%
Comment sentiment score

Brands buy goodwill, not just volume. Toxic comment sections kill deals late.

Sentiment above 75
Revenue efficiency
12%
RPM (ad + platform revenue per 1,000 views), trailing 30-day revenue

RPM tells us what a commission is actually worth and which genres pay per view.

RPM above $4, or $15k+ monthly revenue
Publishing consistency
6%
Posts per month, variance of monthly viewer deltas

Repeatable cadence with stable results is what makes a format licensable for 50 episodes.

4+ posts a month with delta swings under 15 points
Off-platform durability
5%
Owned channels (newsletter, Discord, ticketing, merch, podcast), brand safety status

Owned audience is what a creator keeps when a platform changes its mind — and rights issues are the fastest way to lose a signing.
